Sierra Intermountain Emergency Radio Association installs 2016 officers

Members of the Sierra Intermountain Emergency Radio Association, or SIERA, approved new officers for 2016. The officers are Jeff Cauhape, president, Ben Echavarria, vice president, Billie Jo McAfee, secretary, Debbie Williams, treasurer, Sue Cauhape, public information officer, Bob Williams, Isaiah Echavarria, Daryl Haines, Tom Tobacco, and J.D. Fowler. Pictured are Tom Tobacco, J.D. Fowler, Isaiah Echavarria, Ben Echavarria, Jeff Cauhape, Daryl Haines, Debbie Williams, and Bob Williams. Missing from photo are Sue Cauhape and Billie Jo McAfee. The amateur radio club provides radio communication during major emergencies and community events. It participates in Field Day, an annual nationwide contest in which HAMs broadcast from a remote location and try to contact as many stations as possible.
