Justice of the Peace John Tatro has been presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Nevada Association of Judges of Limited Jurisdiction.

Association President Richard Glasson said the honor recognizes Tatro for his numerous contributions to the judiciary. He said the award is only rarely given.

“However, there are those rare instances where one judge has contributed so much heart and wisdom that we want to honor their example as role models to all judges,” he said.

Tatro has been a Carson City JP/Municipal Judge since 1995. He was named 2003 judge of the year and has served as a member of the state Judicial Council and Judicial Code Commission, specialty court funding committee and the court technology committee. He currently serves on the Supreme Court commission studying evidence-based pretrial release.
