Carson City Chamber of Commerce hosting candidates forum on May 24

Choosing the candidates who will advance to the general election is extremely important. And, the only way to be able to choose wisely is to see the primary candidates in action as they answer questions posed by board members of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce on May 24th beginning at 6 p.m. at the BAC Performance Hall.

The Carson City Chamber Primary Candidates Forum will center on the two races with four candidates each. The race for Carson City Mayor attracted four candidates as did the race for Assembly District 40 covering Carson City and parts of Washoe County. The first hour will be devoted to allowing the mayoral candidates to answer questions concerning Carson City’s future. Those candidates are incumbent mayor Robert Crowell being contested by Chris Carver, Jerry Cinani and Kurt Meyer. The AD40 race includes incumbent P.K. O’Neill, Sam England, Chris Forbush and Al Kramer.

The basic format will consist of the moderator asking at least 4 questions that will be answered by each candidate. If time permits, the audience may weigh in with questions of their own. The mayoral candidates will go on at 6 p.m. followed by the AD40 candidates.

The Brewery Arts Center has generously donated the use of the Performance Hall for this important event. The event is free and open to all. To read about the candidates in advance, log on to https://www.nevadaappeal.com/News/Government/elections, first published in the Nevada Appeal on May 8.
