Monday meeting to discuss downtown Carson City construction

Carson City Public Works and Q&D Construction Inc. are holding a meeting Monday to give an update on the downtown corridor construction project.

The contractor and city staff will go over changes to the project’s schedule as well as be available for questions and tours of the construction site.

The project is replacing water and sewer infrastructure underneath Carson Street as well as narrowing the street to two lanes between William and 5th streets, widening sidewalks, building a plaza on 3rd Street and adding other pedestrian-friendly features.

Q&D broke ground in early March and is slated to finish before the upcoming Nevada Day.

The meeting is at 3 p.m. Monday at the Alatte Coffee and Wine Bar in the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St.
