Nevada prison inmate in child sex case dies in Carson City

A 43-year-old convicted child sex offender serving 12-to-50 years in a Northern Nevada Correctional Center died at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

The Nevada Department of Corrections says Ramses Reyes died Tuesday. A cause of death wasn’t disclosed.

Reyes had been hospitalized at a prison medical facility at a Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

Reyes pleaded guilty in 2007 in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas to lewdness with a minor and attempted use of a child in the production of pornography, according to court documents.
