Optometrist going in place of old Sizzler building

Remember The Sizzler restaurant on the corner of West Nye Lane and Carson Street that shut down in 2009?

There’s finally a new future for that spot ahead, after years of abandonment.

Shaheen Beauchamp Builders of Carson City is in charge of the project. According to Superintendent Dave Nair, demolition began Monday.

The new building will house an optometrist office. As of right now, there’s no set timeline of completion for the project as permits are still being processed by the city, Nair said.
