Carson City stormwater management open house set

Carson City is holding an open house for information on its stormwater management plan update.

The public event will be held Dec. 6, from 1-4 p.m., in the Bonanza room at the Carson City Community Center.

The goal of the management plan is to reduce the amount of pollutants that enter the city’s stormwater.

The program entails seven control measures, including public education and outreach; public involvement and participation; illicit discharge detection and elimination; construction site runoff control; post-construction site stormwater management; pollution prevention and good housekeeping for municipal operations; and Clear Creek master stormwater management program.

Public comment on the plan is open until Jan. 4, 2017.
