Carson City health inspections for Oct. 7

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Oct. 7. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Aloha Liquor, 4555 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Ben’s Fine Wine & Spirits, 3777 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Firken & Fox, restaurant, 310 S. Carson St., Suite 100, scored 100 points.

Hacienda Market & Grill, deli, 2040 E. William St., scored 100 points.

Hacienda Market & Grill, produce, 2040 E. William St., scored 100 points.

Hacienda Market & Grill, grocery, 2040 E. William St., scored 99 points. Garbage storage container lids were open.

Hacienda Market & Grill, meat and seafood, 2040 E. William St., scored 98 points. All foods in the walk-in freezer were not protected from contamination with plastic wrap, and all foods were not kept at least six inches off the floor on either pallets or shelving.

JM Discount Liquor, 1501 E. Fifth St., Suite 102, scored 100 points.

Lifestream Health Foods, 101 Hot Springs Road, Suite 1A, scored 100 points.

Sassafras, bar, 1500 Old Hot Springs Road, scored 98 points. The plumbing was not properly sized, installed or maintained. A leak was found in the pipe under the bar. Floors were not in good repair. The trap door in the bar area needed to be sealed and covered.

Firkin & Fox, bar, 310 S. Carson St., scored 97 points. Bathroom fixtures were not in good repair.

Hacienda Market & Grill, bakery, 2040 E. William St., scored 96 points. Eggs were being stored above prepared foods.

Arco ampm, 1017 N. Carson St., scored 95 points. Wax paper, a single service item, was being reused. A certified food handler was not on duty.

Sassafras, restaurant, 1500 Old Hot Springs Road, scored 95 points. Grease buildup was bubbling out of the floor drain in the kitchen. Floors needed to be cleaned. Cracks and holes in the floor needed to be repaired.

Viet Pho, 444 E. William St., Suite 6, scored 95 points. Eggs were being improperly stored, corrected on site. Chlorine was missing from the disinfectant bucket, corrected on site.
