Cibolan Gold hires

William Matlack, Robin Hendrickson, Donald McDowell and Dr. Steven Garwin have joined the staff of Cibolan Gold Corp., an exploration and development company in Reno.

Matlack has 14 years experience in metals and mining equities, including positions with BMO Nesbitt Burns and Salomon Smith Barney. He also worked for General Moly Inc. and Western Prospector Group Ltd.

He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in geology from Carleton College and a master’s of science degree in feology from the University of Minnesota.

Hendrickson has more than 40 years experience in gold exploration including working for Barrick Gold, Placer Dome, Santa Fe Pacific Gold, and Spirit Minerals. He also founded EDM Solutions, Inc., which develops commercial web-based database management system for the minerals industry.

McDowell has more than 30 years experience in project generation and consolidating strategic natural resources projects. He is founding president of America’s Gold Exploration, Inc., founding corporate & technical director for Ecuador Gold and Copper, Inc. and former founding president of Great American Minerals, Inc. McDowell has more than 25 years experience in the mining industry.

Dr. Garwin has more than 25 years experience as an exploration geologist with large and small mining companies including working for Newmont Mining for ten years, including more than two years as chief geologist for Nevada and for Geoinformatics Exploration for five years as a Principal Geologist and Consultant. He has consulted with several junior and major mining companies. He is an adjunct research fellow at the Centre for Exploration Targeting at the University of Western Australia and has been appointed a visiting fellow at the Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University. Dr. Garwin became a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists in 1996, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in 2012 and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists in 2013.
