McElhaney staff

Ben Snaza, Jaskaran (Harry) Boughan, Joel Heidema, Richard Duval, Mark Patton have joined the staff of McElhaney Structural Engineers.

Snaza was hired as a project engineer.

He has experience in building analysis and design including custom homes, multi-family construction, commercial, and non-conventional buildings.

Snaza earned both a bachelor’s of science and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Boughan was hired as a staff engineer.

He graduated from UNR in 2015 with his bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering and is currently pursuing his master’s degree with an emphasis in structural engineering.

Heidema was named a staff engineer.

He previously worked in the construction industry as an apprentice carpenter and has experience working with multiple structural analysis platforms.

Heidema graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2011 with a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering and his master’s degree with an emphasis in structural engineering in 2012.

Duval was hired as a draftsman and modeler.

He has been a CADD Manager in architecture and engineering offices in Phoenix and Las Vegas. He has been drafting for architectural offices and drafting services in the Reno and Carson City areas since 1998.

Duval earned his associates of applied science degree in architecture from Phoenix Institute of Technology in 1989.

Patton has been a structural drafter and architectural project for 30 years and has been a designer in a variety of building industry. He was also a steel detailer for a metal building fabricator and for a local joist manufacturer.
