Carson City Navy League honors Jose Soriano as Recruiter of the Quarter

Navy Recruiter, LS2 Jose Soriano, receives Recruiter of the Quarter recognition from Navy League Carson City Council President, Bud Southard.

The Navy League of the United States Carson City Council honored Navy Recruiter Second Class Petty Officer, LS2 Jose Soriano, as Recruiter of the Quarter for Naval Recruiting Station, Sparks.

Carson City Council President, Bud Southard, presented LS2 Soriano a Certificate and token of appreciation at a ceremony held at the Sparks Naval Recruiting Station with Naval personnel from the Sparks office and several other offices from Navy Recruiting District Portland in attendance.

Also in attendance were Carolyn Southard, Eric Moormann and Donna Brand Moormann, Board members of the NLUS Carson City Council.

The Recruiter of the Quarter award recognizes those sailors chosen for outstanding performance and achievement by their respective Recruiting Districts.

The Carson City Council of the Navy League of the United States sponsors several Navy and Marine commands in Northern Nevada. One of the responsibilities of the Council’s Sponsorship is the periodic recognition of those Sailors and Marines chosen by their respective commands for outstanding achievement.

Founded in 1902 with the support of President Theodore Roosevelt, the Navy League’s missions include keeping the public and elected officials informed about the importance of sea power to our Nation’s national security and economic prosperity as well as providing direct support to sea service personnel and their families though our more than 55,000 members in approximately 260 Councils worldwide.

The Navy League also helps build America’s future through successful youth programs like the Naval Sea Cadet Corps and the Navy League Foundation Scholarship Program.
