58-year-old inmate dies

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine what caused the death of a 59-year-old inmate.

Shair Sahadat Ali was convicted of theft in Washoe County and was serving a 4-10 year sentence.

He told staff at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center he wasn’t feeling good Tuesday night. Staff moved him out of his cell but before he reached the medical facility, he lost consciousness. He was pronounced dead by medical staff.
