Prestige Care, a leader in exceptional senior living and skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, released further details of its joint plan with Carson Tahoe Health to construct a new senior living community specializing in comprehensive transitional rehabilitation and memory care. Carson Tahoe Health invested the land for the new center, which is scheduled to break ground at 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 27, 2016. The state-of-the-art care center will open for service near the end of 2017.
The upcoming two-story, 88,000 square-foot center will have the capacity to treat skilled nursing and rehabilitation patients, and assisted living memory care residents. The Carson Tahoe Care Center will feature Prestige’s award-winning memory care program, Expressions, as well as a transitional rehabilitation center unit, all backed by clinical expertise to provide a comprehensive care continuum.

The new community will serve 134 residents, offering 80 beds for skilled nursing patients and 54 beds for memory care assisted living residents. Approximately 125 total employees will care for the center’s residents and families, with 45 of those staff members devoted to the memory care program.
Prestige’s Expressions memory care program is a life-affirming, activity-rich residential program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia who seek community-based services to help alleviate the effects of the disease for themselves and their families. The program’s person-centered approach to care, based on knowing each person’s life story, combined with integrated and individualized programming and experiences for each resident, earned Prestige an Innovators Award from the International Council on Active Aging.
