The city of Fallon launched a new website, FallonNevada.gov, to better serve residents by providing easy access to government services and local representatives, along with an intuitive layout and modern design for a better user experience.

In an effort to clearly provide ease of access to the local government, the website features a personal note from Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford on the front page welcoming residents and visitors alike. In addition, an interactive map visualizing the three city wards and corresponding councilmembers along with a guide to city council meetings all bridge the gap between Fallon government and residents.

“Our goal is to bring the community closer than ever,” said Tedford. “This website is a gateway for residents to find information in a quick, easy way. Most importantly, it allows residents to have another way to communicate with us so that we can continuously strive to better meet our community’s needs.”

Meeting the needs of local entrepreneurs, the City of Fallon expedites business development in part by now allowing business license applications and business building permits to be filled out and submitted digitally.

The website also consolidates city happenings and opportunities into one location, giving residents the resources needed to grow businesses and learn of existing events. Residents are able to pay utilities, submit events, fill out and submit building permits, discover job openings and learn about seasonal updates in the city with an easily searchable design.

As seasonal activities change throughout the year, those updates are reflected in the website to ensure community awareness. Recreation such as the city’s outdoor pool, arts programs and annual events are updated frequently and re-organized within the site to reflect the current date on the calendar year, creating a go-to resource for year-round information.

The design of the website itself celebrates the “Oasis of Nevada” and can be seen throughout the user’s experience. Showcasing historical locations, like the Douglass house and newly renovated City Hall, in a highly visual manner presents the community’s culture through a modern lens. Care was given to each detail including the color scheme, which is inspired by the area’s diverse and vibrant landscape.

Fallon partnered with Reno-based agency, The Abbi Agency, to develop, build and launch the website. For more information and to view the new website, visit www.FallonNevada.gov.
