Sandy Severance is stepping into the role of program director for the Nevada Rural Counties RSVP.

The Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc. (RSVP) named Sandy Severance as its program director at Carson City headquarters.

“As a long-time nonprofit director, Mrs. Severance has a proven track record of exemplary leadership and program expertise. We are very happy to have Sandy on our team and look forward to working with her as we continue to provide seniors with programs of assistance which helps improve the quality of their lives and assists them to maintain their independence with dignity,” said Susan Haas, executive director and CEO of RSVP.

Prior to joining RSVP, Severance worked as a consultant in Nairobi, Kenya, as a grant writer and served as executive director for two nonprofits in Pueblo, Colo., NeighborWorks and the Human Relations Commission.

Severance also was active on several Colorado boards including the Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center and the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority.

“I am truly honored and excited about starting a new chapter in my career as RSVP’s program director,” Severance said. “I look forward to working with Susan and the great team at RSVP to continue the mission and vision of helping seniors with volunteer programs.”
