Carson City Public Works to hold open house

Carson City Public Works is holding an open house geared to the young and the young at heart.

The Saturday event will feature plenty of heavy equipment for kids to explore as well as bounce houses, giveaways, a duck race and food from Lazy Hog food truck, known for its fish tacos, pulled pork sandwich, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Staff and crew will be on hand, too, to talk about everything the department does, including clean water, sewer service, streets maintenance, utility billing, the Jump Around Carson bus system, the landfill, flood mitigation and storm drain services.

“Public Works would like to show the citizens of Carson City what they do and answer any questions you might have about our community services,” said Deb Ottinger, Public Works civil designer.

The open house is July 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works Corporate Yard, 3505 Butti Way.
