Eagle Valley sets club tournament
The deadline to sign up for the Eagle Valley Golf Course Club Member-Guest Tournament is Monday. The tournament will be held from Friday, Aug. 4 through Saturday, Aug. 6 and is open to men’s club members and senior men’s club members.
Entry fee is $210 plus green fees which are $73. Gree fees are free on Friday, $30 for the East Course on Saturday and $43 for the West Course on Sunday. The driving range will be available each day with complementary range balls.
On Friday, the 9-hole team skins game will be held at 1:30 p.m. on the East Course and the cost is $10 per person. At 4 p.m. will be the 3-hole team horse race, which is included in the entry fee, on the East Course. At 6 p.m. will be the cocktail and appetizer party, which includes one free cocktail.
On Saturday, check-in at the pro shop begins at 6 a.m. A continental breakfast will be held at 6:30 a.m. Shotgun start for the 2-man best ball event will begin at 8 a.m. on the East Course. There will be one free cocktail for each player. A barbecue will follow at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, check-in begins at 6 p.m. at the pro shop. Shotgun start for the 2-man team scramble will begin at 8 a.m. on the West Course and there will be one free cocktail for every player. The awards surf-and-turf banquet will follow at 1:30 p.m.

Buchanan, Astudillo lift Reno over Oklahoma City
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Willians Astudillo hit a two-run home run in the second inning and had two hits, and Jake Buchanan allowed just four hits over seven innings as the Reno Aces topped the Oklahoma City Dodgers 2-1 on Friday.
Buchanan (4-2) allowed one run while striking out five and walking one to get the win.
The Dodgers cut into the deficit in the third inning when O’Koyea Dickson hit an RBI single, bringing home Bobby Wilson.
Jared Miller recorded his first save of the season.
The Aces return home to host Memphis today at 7:05 p.m.
