Balanced media coverage called for

From the Feb. 19 Appeal opinion page’s letters to the editor “Watch for Ghosts of Past Human Folly,” we are to infer that the Trump administration is some version of a modern-day Nazi party. Oh, really?

Paul Sperry at the New York Post, among others, has reported on “Organizing for Action.” OFA recruits, trains, and pays professional rioters to “demonstrate” against Trump’s policies and disrupt Republican legislative town halls to create the illusion of a deeply divided country and widespread anti-Trump opposition. I invite the Appeal to cover this story about a real modern-day Nazi-type propaganda and guerilla organization.

The Appeal’s “Fresh Ideas” opinion columns regularly hector readers about climate change, so maybe the Appeal’s editorial board should follow the Wall Street Journal’s lead in their “A Back-to-Basics Agenda for the EPA” article.

The Obama global-warming-obsessed EPA has for eight years ignored 1,300 U.S. Superfund sites. Its “Waters of the United States” enforcers completely overlooked Flint, Mich., and Hudson River water contamination that actually endangers human beings. The predictable Oroville Dam failure somehow escaped Obama’s “shovel-ready infrastructure” project managers.

I urge the Appeal editorial board to break with the out-of-touch mainstream media and deliver balanced reporting to all its readers.
