For all the soldiers and veterans out there

All I can do is thank you for keeping my country free

All I can do is say “God bless you,” is that enough for what you have done for me?

All I can do is shake your hand and admire your strength and pride

All I can do is to never leave you in my support that I’ll never hide

I stand for the National Anthem and proudly place my hand on my heart

Is it enough that I’ll bleed for my country and never tear her apart?

I proudly took the opportunity to pay my respects to the moving wall

I cried for those who never came home, I cry for one and all

I have 57 years as a civilian watching a war that’s on TV

I know I’ll never understand all the hell that you soldiers see

All I can do is write my words to show my support and care

God bless you, my prayers to you for all the soldiers and veterans out there
