Harrah’s Reno Steak House is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

To commemorate the event, Harrah’s Reno held a media event May 25 with some of the Steak House’s longest-tenured employees giving demonstrations on making some of its favorite dishes.

Team members on hand were Bong Genio (who’s worked for the Steak House for 43 years.); Tony Belancio (36 years of service); Michael Kerivan (29 years of service); and Ozzie Cabrera (26 years of service).

The Steak House, located in the basement floor of Harrah’s Reno, has expanded twice since opening in 1967. The first was in 1982 and again 2009.

To celebrate, Harrah’s Reno Steak House will offer its 50th Anniversary Four Course Dinner for $50 per person, featuring Broiled Petite Filet paired with two Seafood Stuffed Prawns with a Lemon Dijon Sundried Tomato Sauce. The 50th Anniversary Appetizer Special and 50 percent off all Cruvinet wines by the glass are also offered.

The accolades the Steak House has earned includes being named a AAA Four Diamond restaurant, as well as International Restaurant and Hospitality Rating Bureau-America’s Top 10 Steak Houses, and it's been inducted into the Nation’s Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame.

The Steak House has hosted a slew of past and present celebrities including Sammy Davis Jr., Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Jack Nicholson, and Sean Penn.

Harrah’s is also celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2017. The resort was founded as a coffeehouse by William Harrah in 1937.
