Seven juveniles injured in rollover crash on Kings Canyon Road

Two Carson City teenagers are in life-threatening condition following a rollover crash Thursday night. The crash occurred at 10:46 p.m. Thursday after Carson City deputies responded to the incident on Kings Canyon, just west of Longview. Upon arrival, deputies discovered seven juveniles involved in the crash, said Sheriff Ken Furlong. Three of the juveniles are in critical condition- with two sustaining life-threatening injuries- and two are in moderate condition. Two have been released from the hospital. All were transported to Renown Regional Medical Center via CareFlight or ground ambulance for trauma injuries. Officials with the Carson City Fire Department said that several of the teenagers weren’t wearing their seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle upon impact. The remaining ones had to extricated from the vehicle with tools. Six of the juveniles were from Carson High School, and one was from Dayton High School. All seven were 16 to 17-years-old. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash at this time. The Nevada Highway Patrol crash investigation unit took over the incident, as per protocol and the investigation is still continuing. Kings Canyon Road was closed most of the night for emergency personnel. Schools were closed Friday for Veteran’s Day. The story will be updated as more information becomes available. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with medical costs for the juveniles. As of Friday at noon, it has raised more than $7,8000. To donate, go to https://www.gofundme.com/prayforthem.
