Two Northern Nevada hospitals earn top honors

Two hospitals in Nevada are being honored today for their high performance on quality of care outcome measures and patient satisfaction. The 2017 HealthInsight Quality Award hospital recipients are Renown South Meadows Medical Center in Reno and Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital in Elko. HealthInsight, a nonprofit, community-based health care collaborative working to improve health and health care for patients and providers,  presented the 2017 HealthInsight Quality Awards to the recipients at the 57th Annual Nevada Hospital Association Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe on Sept. 7. HealthInsight Quality Award hospital recipients are selected based on their performance on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), patient experience of hospital care (HCAHPS), 30-day hospitalwide readmissions and mortality measures. “We are extremely pleased to recognize these hospitals for their excellence in performance,” said Deborah Huber, HealthInsight Nevada’s executive director. “This level of achievement requires strong leadership and a dedication to quality by all members of the health care team.” The hospital quality data is available by visiting www.medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
