Bailey Pond is temporarily closed after iron-based bacteria was observed in the water on Monday.
Carson City is working with the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection to conduct water quality testing at the fishing pond near Fuji Park.
Parks, Recreation and Open Space said it would reopen the pond as soon as possible.
