The Popcorn Stand: Leave check-in to the dinosaurs, not clowns

I just hope the Clown Motel in Tonopah doesn’t get any ideas from this.

Of course this is for “Jurassic Park” fans but a Japanese hotel has its reception desk manned by robot dinosaurs.

The robot dinosaurs help people check in using Japanese, English, Chinese or Korean.

Now hopefully the Clown Motel doesn’t follow up on this idea and use robotic clowns to help people check in.

The Clown Motel is creepy enough. I’ve written before I’ve driven through Tonopah many times, but have never stopped at the place.

I would like to stop one day just to check it out — but not to stay there. And I know I would never want to be checked into a hotel by a clown of any kind.

Now a robotic dog or a real dog, that would be cool. I mean how cool is that to be checked into a hotel by a dog?

But I don’t think it would be possible to train my two dogs, Pete the Shih Tzu and Tuf Tuf (you know Sir Tuffington Something or Other) the Jack Russell, to do something like that.

Of course the dinosaur hotel in Japan is owned by the Henn na chain, Henn na meaning weird.

Although I have to admit the robot dinosaurs wearing tiny bellboy hats is pretty cool.

But for some reason there are people who are unnerved when they check in. Go figure.

And don’t bring in the clowns.
