CARSON CITY, Nev. — Since 2000, Greater Nevada Credit Union has awarded nearly $400,000 in scholarships to Northern Nevada-area youth.
This year, GNCU is offering 25 $2,000 scholarships to students age 24 and younger and five $2,000 scholarships to students 25 years of age and older for the 2019-20 school year. The application deadline is March 29.
The scholarship program, sponsored and administered annually by the credit union, is available to GNCU members and their families.
Scholarships are awarded based on each applicant's financial need, academic performance, community involvement and educational and career goals. The scholarships can be used for tuition, course registration, special classes or laboratory fees, room and board, textbooks and class materials.
