Special Olympics Nevada (SONV) announced last month the hiring of Marnie Carr as Development Director.

In her role, Carr will develop a strategy to identify and secure corporate partners, individual donors and foundations to financially support the organization, among other duties.

Before joining SONV, Carr was executive director of the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society.

Carr, who is originally from Australia, has been in Northern Nevada for the past seven years. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism, Leisure and Event Management from the University of Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

“I am honored to join the SONV team and work alongside such extraordinary people,” Carr said in a statement. “SONV is a loved and vital organization throughout the world, and I look forward to serving as an advocate for the athletes.”
