Mikki Huntsman was sworn in to the office of Reno City Clerk in late September after being appointed to the role in August.

Among other roles, the City Clerk retains custody of and maintains the City's official records and history; and coordinates the conduct of City Council elections.

“Mikki has done a phenomenal job during her tenure at the City of Reno, including serving as Interim City Clerk since July,” Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve said in a statement. “Her future is bright, just like The Biggest Little City, and I look forward to working with Mikki more in her capacity as City Clerk.”

Huntsman had served as Chief Deputy Clerk since July 2018, per a Sept. 28 press release. In addition to her experience at the City of Reno, she spent two years in special event production and management and five years as an office manager. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Governors University.

“I am honored to be appointed to the office of Reno City Clerk,” Huntsman said in a statement. “I will serve the Mayor, Council, and citizens of Reno with the utmost honor and dignity.”
