France-based flavor manufacturer Monin Americas held a grand opening ribbon cutting on Oct. 18 for its new production facility in Sparks.

The 115,000-square-foot plant in the Spanish Springs Business Center off the Pyramid Highway includes full flavor processing and bottling as well as warehouse distribution for the western U.S., Mexico and Canada, according to Monin.

The facility initially in November 2020,
producing up to 30,000 bottles a day with an initial crew of 20 employees.

The company is seeking to fill several more local positions, according to an Oct. 18 press release.

Representatives from Washoe County and Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, among others, were on hand for the Oct. 18 grand opening.

Among other features, the Sparks facility includes a state-of-the-art “innovation flavor café.” There, customers can experience creative beverage development and operational training with the selection of Monin’s 200-plus flavoring products.

First established in 1912 in Bourges, France, the company launched its Monin Americas division in 1995 with the opening of its “Flavor Innovation Center” in Clearwater, Florida. The Sparks facility essentially doubles the company’s U.S. capacity.
