The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection has announced its preliminary decision to renew the Class 1 Air Quality Operating Permit for the Carson City landfill.
NDEP said in a statement that the preliminary review of the landfill operation indicates renewing the permit, “will not cause or contribute to a violation of any federal or state of Nevada air quality standards.”
The division invited anyone wishing to comment on the proposed renewal to submit comments to Jamie Mara at NDEP’s Bureau of Air Pollution Control. The draft air quality permit can be found at https://ndep.nv.gov/posts/category/public-notices/air.
The public comment period is open for 30 days.
