Bridget Posson
The American Red Cross of Nevada has announced Bridget Posson as the new executive director of the Northern Nevada Chapter.
In this role, she will lead a team of volunteers and oversee essential Red Cross programs and services for more than 800,000 residents across 12 counties and Carson City.
Posson brings a wealth of experience from her career in nonprofit leadership, where she has focused on education, family support, environmental advocacy and improving lives.
Most recently, Posson served as the grants manager for Sierra Community House, securing funds to support critical services such as hunger relief, legal aid, immigration assistance, family-strengthening programs, and aid for victims of intimate partner violence, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and child abuse.
As executive director, Posson will collaborate with local community partners and elected officials, lead fundraising efforts, and serve as the primary spokesperson for the Northern Nevada Chapter. A key aspect of her role will be to engage and mobilize volunteers.
Throughout her career, Posson has held leadership roles in various nonprofits, including the Hunger Coalition in Bellevue, Girls on the Run of Southern Idaho, and Exploring New Horizons Outdoor School in California.
She holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and earth sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
