As of June 1, I am honored to serve as the new president and CEO of Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, better known as NCET.
NCETs vision is to be Northern Nevada’s leading catalyst for entrepreneurial innovation, where bold ideas flourish, startups thrive, and businesses shape the future of our economy. We envision a vibrant, inclusive ecosystem that empowers every entrepreneur to succeed locally and compete globally.
In recent years, NCET operated in survival mode due to the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. With in-person gatherings halted, the organization understandably lost momentum.
Now, as Northern Nevada’s startup, business, and technology communities continue to grow and transform, it is time for NCET to evolve as well. I am also excited to announce that NCET has found a new home at the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center.
Our flagship event, Biz Bites, will now be hosted in this dynamic space—offering more accessible pricing, an enhanced speaker lineup, and expanded opportunities for engagement with entrepreneurs, founders, and innovators.
We will temporarily pause programming for the remainder of the summer, allowing the board of directors and I to thoughtfully develop a refreshed strategic vision that aligns with the current and future needs of our entrepreneurial community for a September relaunch.
In the coming months, we’ll unveil:
• A new NCET brand identity
• Updated event formats and programming
• New membership pricing and levels
• Fresh event pricing models
• The launch of our inaugural Innovation Summit, part of Reno Startup Week 2025
These changes are designed to reflect the momentum of Northern Nevada’s entrepreneurial landscape. As someone who helped launch the inaugural—and award-winning—Reno Startup Week in 2023, I’ve had the privilege of hearing directly from founders, investors, innovators and community members.
Your insights will play a critical role in shaping NCETs next chapter. We’re not trying to become the next Silicon Valley or Austin—we’re all building the best version of Reno’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
