Olcese Waste Services expands its recycling services in Nevada with tire disposal and recycling, with the addition of a large high-capacity tire shredder.
This equipment shreds tires down for disposal and/or recycling depending on the rubber compound. Tires that are cleaner i.e., no dirt and concrete in and/or on them have a better chance of being recycled.
Tires are loaded on the infeed conveyor and run through the shredder cutting the tires into smaller pieces as they are discharged out of the shredder reducing the size of the tire down to smaller pieces.
This material is loaded into large trailers and then shipped out for recycling and/or disposal. Tires are collected by one of two options and shipped to a tire shredding facility:
• Either we bring the customer a large roll-off bin where they fill it as needed or;
• For smaller generators weekly collection routes run in the Reno, Sparks, Fernley, or Carson City area.
The equipment, tire shredding, has been in place for about a year. Olcese has been receiving tires from Eastern Nevada along with the Eastern Sierras of California for process and disposal/recycling.
