Allegiant, Harrah’s extend charter deal
Allegiant Air says it extended its agreement to operate MD-87 charter flights to Reno/Tahoe for Harrah’s Resorts through December 2005.
The original two-year agreement between the two companies was signed in late 2001.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant will operate four-day-a-week charter service to Reno/Tahoe, double the amount flights Allegiant had previously been operating to Reno/Tahoe for Harrah’s.
Passengers arriving at Reno/Tahoe stay as guests at Harrah’s Reno, Harrah’s Tahoe and Harvey’s Casino and Hotels.
Over the last year Allegiant has operated to more than 100 airports across the U.S.
Selection of the cities the charters link with Reno/Tahoe and is coordinated by Harrah’s, as is the marketing and customer invitations for the flights.
Allegiant also provides flights to Laughlin for Harrah’s.
The unanimous approvals Wednesday came despite state leaders promising to tighten up requirements for Nevada’s tax abatements and incentives for future companies.
