Arrow Electronics to hire 100 in Reno
Arrow Electronics Inc.
plans to increase employment at its Reno distribution center after it closes its primary distribution facility at Brookhaven, N.Y.
The company expects to add 100 jobs in Reno with the consolidation.
A total of 357 currently work at the Arrow center in Reno.
The company is one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components and computer products.
Arrow decided to consolidate its U.S.
distribution operations in Reno because the 430,000-square-foot facility opened in 2001 is more efficient.
“It’s a state of the art-facility,” said Maria Never, a spokeswoman for Arrow.
The cancelation of the 2020 event “severely affected operating revenue,” according to the Great Reno Balloon Race.
