Business planning for scientists seminar set
Nevada Small Business Development Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, has scheduled a free one-day workshop, “Business Planning for Scientists and Engineers,” in Reno on Thursday.
The workshop will be taught by Fred Patterson, a Texas businessman who founded two successful Small Business Innovation Research award-winning companies (SPEC and Radiant Photonics) and worked as a consultant to companies that received more than 150 SBIR and STTR contracts and grants.
He’ll cover creation of an organization, team-building protection of intellectual property, commercialization strategies, financing and the establishment of a market.
For registration, see http://nsbdc.org/education-training/business-training-calendar/.
Jacob Warwick, CEO of Discover Podium, says the company that launched only a year ago in Reno recently surpassed $1 million in revenue and has big plans for growth in the coming months.
