Cali manufacturer relocates to Dayton
Peterson Products is moving its production facility and headquarters from the Bay Area to Dayton.
According to a news release from the Northern Nevada Development Authority, the company recently leased a building in Dayton and plans to create up to 70 jobs in the area and adding another manufacturer to Lyon County.
Peterson Products is a family owned, reinforced plastic composite manufacturer that has been in business for more than 72 years. The company specializes in polyester laminates, epoxy laminates, phenolic laminates, carbon fiber laminates, and aramid laminates and can create custom molds and patterns to meet virtually any need. Peterson Products supplies parts to many different industries including the transportation, electronics, architectural, marine, entertainment and medical industries.
“Northern Nevada has a quality of life that is simply unachievable in the Bay Area between the high cost, congestion and crime,” said Todd Peterson, owner and president of the firm in a statement. “We were one of the last manufacturers in our area and we were facing an unknown countdown so it was time to make a move.
“I chose Nevada because the regulatory environment and labor market are much better. NNDA was there throughout the process and helped to guide us through every step.”
Peterson Products will be hiring up to 40 employees locally including mostly manufacturing positions and looks to begin production in early December.

“Every manufacturer that comes to our area increases our industrial capabilities as a region and really works well to complement the existing businesses in the area. Peterson Products has a wide product offering across many different industries. We’re happy to have them here in Nevada.”
NNDA began working with Peterson Products last June.
Ernest Packaging Solutions has leased 133,108 square feet at Dermody Properties’ LogistiCenter at 395 Phase II, Building 1, leaving 47,952 square feet still available.
