Entrepreneur Expo scheduled
Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology has scheduled an Entrepreneur Expo in Reno on March 15.
The expo will feature exhibits, speakers and panel discussions targeted toward entrepreneurs who want to start or grow a small business.
Dave Archer, chief executive officer of the NCET, said the event is expected to draw between 500 and 1,000 people. Last year’s inaugural event drew about 500 to hear 28 speakers and panelists and visit 32 booths.
He said this year’s expo will include 75 to 100 exhibitors, most of them companies and nonprofits that provide services to small businesses. The agency is accepting applications from exhibitors and potential sponsors, Archer said.
It’s important to note that layoffs are certainly playing a role in our environment, but our focus here is on threats to and strategies for retaining the employees you intend to keep, writes Amy Fleming of EDAWN.
