Freund Container opens Sparks facility
Freund Container & Supply, an Illinois company that supplies products ranging from wine bottles to pushbrooms for industrial customers, has opened a warehouse in Sparks.
The 27,000-square-foot distribution facility at 1385 Greg St. employs five.
Chris Hiller, general manager of Freund Container & Supply, said the company expects to reduce transit times to its West Coast customers by as much as four days with the opening of the warehouse in Sparks.
Freight costs paid by customers will fall by as much as 55 percent with the new facility, Hiller said.
The company will serve customers in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado from Sparks.
Along with the Sparks warehouse, the company operates a distribution center at Streator, Ill., in the Chicago area. Freund Container, a division of Berlin Packaging, is headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Lisle, Ill.
Tiffiany Howard, a UNLV professor and recent Congressional Black Caucus Foundation senior research fellow, is the lead author of the study aimed at identifying ways banks can help support and invest in Black entrepreneurs.
