Goodwill leases retail spots for donations
Goodwill of Northern Nevada continues to expand by opening its 12th drop-off location in Reno, Sparks and Carson City.
Goodwill leased 1,200 square feet at 4788 Caughlin Parkway Suite 206 and plans on opening the drop-off location in early September. The site will employ three.
The recent expansion puts the number of Goodwill stores in Reno, Sparks and Carson City at 15, with nine new locations in the past few years alone. The not-for-profit charity expects to add two to three additional drop-off locations over the next year, says Goodwill of Northern Nevada President Rob Harden.
“It’s easy to expand when donors support and recognize our mission,” Harden says. “It is all donor-based, and if donors are supporting growth we will expand.”
Goodwill also expects to partner with the Northern Nevada Food bank to co-brand certain locations for food drop off as well.
On April 1, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak formally issued a “Stay at Home” directive for Nevadans and extended closures of nonessential businesses, gambling and school closures to April 30.
