Northern Nevada Business Weekly: Tell us about Marshall Realty and the duties of your position.
Marshall Carrasco: We help homeowners recover in today’s market. My duties are to be a leader amongst my team.
NNBW: You’ve spent 16 years working in residential realty — how did you get into the profession?
Carrasco: My grandfather.
NNBW: What’s the biggest change you have seen in your career in the way houses are bought and sold? Have those changes been good for the industry?
Carrasco: The biggest change is the change we are going through right now. The biggest benefit are the low interest rates for buyers. I take a lot of pride in helping homeowners recover with their hardship.
NNBW: Is your job best for an introvert or extrovert? Why?
Carrasco: Extrovert. You need to be able to communicate with people on many different levels and arenas.
NNBW: What was your first job?
Carrasco: My first job was as a paperboy.
NNBW: What’s your dream job. Why aren’t you working it?
Carrasco: Real estate is my dream job!
NNBW: What’s the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Carrasco: Never give up!
NNBW: What are your favorite hobbies or pastimes? How do you spend your time away from work?
Carrasco: Wakeboarding and soccer.
NNBW: If you could live your life over again, what one thing would you change?
Carrasco: I would have taken my education more seriously.
NNBW: What has been your biggest professional accomplishment?
Carrasco: Growing as a leader and providing better leadership for my team.
NNBW: What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
Carrasco: A fireman.
NNBW: If you had enough money to retire right now, would you? Why or why not?
Carrasco: No, I’m having too much fun.
NNBW: Who is your hero? Why?
Carrasco: Robert Downey Jr., because he has come back through a lot of hardships.
NNBW: What would bystanders say if they saw you dancing?
Carrasco: He’s goofy!
NNBW: Where’s your perfect vacation spot?
Carrasco: The Carribbean.
NNBW: Why did you choose a career in northern Nevada? What do you like most about working/living here?
Carrasco: Northern Nevada is my home town. I like the outdoors.
