Interest in Sierra Airfreight Express sold
Andy Zarcone last week completed a 50 percent purchase of Sierra Airfreight Express in Sparks.
Sierra Airfreight Express, located on Spice Island Drive, specializes in providing expedited airfreight for regional logistics companies. The company also performs trucking, logistics and local and regional home delivery services.
“One of the things we benefit from is the abundance of regional distribution centers in the area,” Zarcone says. “A lot of companies need to ship expedited freight and we specialize in getting their products to and from an airport within hours or a day.”
Zarcone will serve as president of the company, which has between 18 and 20 employees. Zarcone says Sierra Airfreight Express is well positioned for growth, which prompted his interest in the company.
“It has a great reputation and a real good staff and track record,” he says. “The potential for a small logistics company in northern Nevada to grow is tremendous.”
Jim Edlund and Todd Elam of BTI Mergers and Acquisitions assisted Zarcone with the purchase.
