Medical supplier expands to Reno
A South Carolina medical supply company will open a distribution center in Reno.
Tom Miller of Miller Industrial Properties, whose firm represented Southern Anesthesia & Surgical Inc., said the company has leased 16,125 square feet at 1155 S. Rock Blvd.
The company headquartered at West Columbia, S.C., distributes surgical devices, medical supplies and controlled drugs to medical and dental markets.
Remodeling of the distribution space has begun, Miller said. Southern Anesthesia & Surgical needs tight security, specialized offices and full air conditioning throughout its distribution facility.
The company was drawn to the site, the real estate broker said, because it’s close to FedEx facilities as well as Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
The 25-year-old company studied several locations in the West before it settled on Reno.
Projected employment numbers at the distribution center weren’t disclosed last week.
