Unemployment rate dips slightly

In September, Nevada’s unemployment rate was a seasonally adjusted 4.9 percent, down one-half of a percentage point from the same month last year.

Year to date, the number of unemployed Nevadans has decreased by 13,500 from the same period last year, while the labor force has expanded by 17,200, said Bill Anderson, chief economist for Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
