Party planning pointers
Summer has ended and crisp fall days are upon us, but it’s never too early to start booking your holiday parties for staff and clients. Here are some tips, courtesy of the Wild River Grille, for taking the pain out of holiday bookings.
Know your budget. It’s going to be the biggest factor in all your decisions. A lot of places will work with you to come up with something you can afford that will be a good time as well. Even if you can’t book the best day and time, venues still want your business, so see what other options they have to offer.
Be open to alternative times and dates. Depending on your business, the holidays might be a very busy time. Having your party in January, post-holiday craziness, will be less expensive and more relaxing for your employees and clients.
Consider different types of venues. Not all parties have to be dinner and drinks. Consider taking everyone bowling, a private screening at a movie theater, or a trip to a sporting event. Activities are a great way to bond with staff while having a lot of fun in the process.
Mid-week price break! Consider booking your party mid week. The food and beverage minimum and fees will be less and you likely get your pick of available days.
Lunchtime = party time. Having a lunchtime get together is also a great way to save some money and it can still include all the fun things like great food and drinks. Maybe everyone gets to head home a little earlier that day?
Limit the available options. A great way to control costs is to limit the options. Maybe instead of three dinner options, offer two, instead of hosting the entire bar, limit it to house or well level. Your guests really won’t mind. Promise.
