‘Private insurance exchange’ launched by Benefit Resource
Benefit Resource Group, a benefits advisory firm in Reno, said last week it launched northern Nevada’s first online private insurance exchange.
Designed for businesses with 10 to 99 employees, the online exchange developed by the Reno company offers 24 plans from national carriers, including health insurance options.
Employers can choose to offer some or all of the plans, and employees can select and individualize their plan through an online portal
Lauren Yurick, a partner at Benefit Resource Group, said the private insurance exchange concept is gaining traction across the nation. An exchange assists employers in setting a defined budget for employee benefits, and it reduces the administrative paperwork, Yurick said.
