Reno ranks among best as start-up site
Nevada ranks best in the nation for
entrepreneurs, and Reno ranks No. 5
among the best small metro areas to start
or grow a company, says a Massachusettsbased
Cognetics of Watham, Mass., recently
released its “Entrepreneurial Hot Spots:
The Best Places in America to Start and
Grow a Company.” It ranks the states and
regions most favored by entrepreneurs.
“The rankings are a direct result of
hard-fought battles to keep business taxes
low in Nevada,” said Harry York chief
executive officer of the Reno-Sparks
Chamber of Commerce.
The other cities in the top five for
entrepreneurs, the Cognetics study said,
are Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Charleston,
S.C. and Austin, Texas.
