Renown buys Spanish Springs land, studies possibilities
Renown Health has completed purchase of 40 acres of land at Kiley Ranch off Pyramid Highway that eventually could house the organization’s northernmost urgent care center, medical group practice or even a larger medical facility.
Stacy Kendall, Renown spokeswoman, says Renown will undertake studies of the growing Spanish Springs area and has 54 months to decide on a plan of action for the land. Renown in January presented the Sparks City Council with a general plan to potentially boost medical services in the area.
Renown has no plans to break ground on a project in the near-term, Kendall says, but its presentation to the City Council detailed a range of possible services, including X-ray and diagnostic imaging and other ambulatory services. If the hospital does decide to build on the parcel it will construct no less than a 10,000-square-foot facility.
“Spanish Springs has been growing so robustly the last few years,” Kendall says. “Renown purchased the land in order to anticipate future needs. We continue to look at the growth and development of different areas, and Spanish Springs has shown to be an area that we anticipate more medical services will be needed.”
