Rose/Glenn, DRGM join forces
The two shall be as one: DRGM Advertising and the Rose/Glenn Group of Reno have merged into The Glenn Group.
For the past 26 years, the firms personified the spirit of friendly competition as CEOs John Glenn and Valerie Glenn owned and operated competing firms despite their marriage.
John Glenn, chairman of DRGM, says he will retire from daily operations after the merger to focus on building client relations. Valerie Glenn takes on the role of president and chief executive officer, positions she held at the Rose/Glenn Group.
The Glenn Group now employs 60 in Reno. The Las Vegas office operated by DRGM, which has 20 employees, also folds into the merger.
“No one will lose their job,” says Valerie Glenn. “We have lots of work for everyone.”
And, she adds, the firms found no client conflicts in their merged portfolio.
However, a shared client was International Game Technology, for whom Rose/Glenn did public relations, a service not offered by DRGM.
“This is the ideal case scenario of a merger,” Valerie Glenn said.
The combined firm will have annual billings of more than $60 million, enough to rank it third largest among advertising agencies in Nevada.
John Glenn started DRGM in 1975. Valerie Glenn joined Rose/Glenn as a partner in 1989. The firm was started by her father, Phil Rose, in 1979; he retired in 2003.
The Rose/Glenn Group had leased space at 299 S. Arlington, which it will vacate to consolidate with the DRGM office at 50 Washington Street. The expanded firm will take over the first floor, and renovate the entire space to accommodate the new staff. Hired for the work, a firm owned by Valerie’s sister: Dana Rose Design Group.
Today, RSAR published its newest monthly market report, revealing a median price for single-family homes of $415,000 for Reno/Sparks in March.
