Rural airports’ upgrades funded
Airports at Carson City, Fallon, Yerington, Winnemucca, Jackpot and Silver Springs have won FAA grants for improvements, Sen. Harry Reid said last week.
Carson City won a $1.4 million grant for rehabilitation of a runway and parking apron.
Fallon was awarded a $150,000 grant to update its master plan and rehabilitate a runway.
Yerington won a $450,000 grant for rehabilitation of a runway, taxiway and apron.
Winnemucca was awarded $164,063 for installation of airfield guidance signs and an emergency generator.
The Jackpot/Hayden Field Airport won a $130,125 grant for installation of runway lighting.
The Silver Springs Airport won a $384,375 grant to construct a taxiway.
