Universal Health sells contracts in Louisiana
Universal Health Network, a Reno-based preferred provider organization, sold its contracts with Louisiana medical providers to MedAvant Healthcare Solutions of Atlanta.
The Louisiana network consists of 1,600 providers and 800 contracts, MedAvant said in announcing the deal last week. Universal Health works primarily in Nevada.
Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
The introductory 80-hour program — announced in May as one solution to Nevada’s oft-lamented skilled labor shortages — is designed to train people in construction, building maintenance and related trades.
